New York Giants owner John Mara admitted the team knew about prior domestic violence incidents between Josh Brown and his wife on Thursday.

“He admitted to us he’d abused his wife in the past,” Mara said in a radio interview, according to Albert Breer of The MMQB. “What’s a little unclear is the extent of that.”

Mara also said the team was aware of an incident at last year’s Pro Bowl in which NFL security had to move Brown’s wife to a different hotel room.

Both the league and the Giants previously said they had no knowledge of the specific details of Brown’s history with domestic violence prior to the release of police documents outlining several incidents of abuse on Wednesday.

Brown was suspended one game under the league’s personal conduct policy for what was described as “a single moment” of domestic violence.
