New York Giants offensive coordinator Mike Sullivan is going to bat for wideout Odell Beckham Jr.
Speaking to reporters Thursday, Sullivan railed against opposing defensive backs who try to bait Beckham into taking penalties or attempt to throw him off his game – something that’s happened a lot this season.
“They’re not confident enough in their abilities, not courageous,” Sullivan told reporters.
One could argue that trash talk and mind games have always been part of football, and what DBs are doing this season is smart because it’s effective.
One could also argue that by making these anti-mind games comments, Sullivan is playing mind games of his own.
Either way, it’s apparent that the Giants’ current strategy for getting Beckham back on the rails this season is showing the world that they still have his back.
