Chelsea was without winger Willian in a 3-0 win over Leicester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, as the Brazilian returned home to grieve the passing of his mother.

While he wasn’t on the field, the rest of the Blues made sure to acknowledge their teammate during this difficult time, each wearing a black armband as a tribute to Willian’s mother:

Diego Costa flashed a “W” for Willian after scoring the opening goal on the seven-minute mark:

And Eden Hazard made reference to his absent teammates’ No. 22 shirt following his first-half goal, later telling Sky Sports, as quoted by ESPN FC: “It’s for Willi, Willian. He’s back in Brazil. He lost his mother. We are thinking about him. I hope he comes back stronger.”

Willian has been an instrumental part of Chelsea’s 2016-17 campaign, having made six Premier League appearances thus far and scoring two goals.
