Breathe, America.

The United States avoided a major upset in its Pool C opener Friday when outfielder Adam Jones singled home the winning run, leading the Americans to a 3-2 walk-off win over Colombia in 10 innings at Marlins Park.

Colombia jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the fifth inning before the USA tied it in the sixth. With a pair of runners in scoring position and two outs in the 10th, Jones lofted a ball into left-center field off Guillermo Moscoso to score Christian Yelich for the winning run.

Jones joins David Wright and Alex Rodriguez as the only three U.S. players to record a walk-off hit in the World Baseball Classic, according to ESPN.
