Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer and outgoing offensive coordinator Norv Turner have differing opinions on what led to his resignation.

Turner, who surprised Zimmer with his resignation on Wednesday, believes philosophical differences were a factor in his decision to step down.

“I think it’s just we have different views on where the offense was going,” Turner told Ed Werder of ESPN.

Zimmer believes otherwise, telling media he didn’t think there was “a difference in opinion on the direction of the offense,” according to Matt Vensel of the Star Tribune.

Turner officially stated his decision to walk away from the Vikings was “for the best interest of the team.”
