Major League Baseball announced the Silver Slugger awards Thursday, recognizing the top offensive players at each position from both leagues.
In a surprising announcement, Boston Red Sox slugger J.D. Martinez won the award in two different categories – outfield and designated hitter – and is the first to do so in MLB history.
