Barcelona defender Gerard Pique didn’t shy away when addressing reports linking Paul Pogba with a move to the Camp Nou.

The Manchester United midfielder’s relationship with manager Jose Mourinho has reportedly deteriorated in recent months, with Spanish media suggesting Barcelona is eager to add Pogba to their ranks before the summer transfer window closes in Spain on Sept. 1.

After Barcelona reportedly saw an offer to sign the World Cup winner rejected earlier this summer, it appears Pique has taken it upon himself to help recruit Pogba by insisting the Frenchman would be a welcome addition to the Catalan side.

“We would be happy to have him (Pogba) here,” Pique told reporters, according to Rik Sharma of Reuters.

“I know little about what he is going through in Manchester and the relationship that exists (between Mourinho and Pogba).

“Pogba is a very good player, but a Manchester United player right now and we’ll see if something happens in the future.”

It’s understood United rejected Barcelona’s offer of €50 million plus Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes. Pogba later hinted there was some form of tension at United before Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu refused to rule out a move for the 25-year-old.

The Blaugrana have completed deals for Arturo Vidal, Malcom, Clement Lenglet, Arthur, and Moussa Wague so far this summer.
