Egyptian authorities have included former football star, Mohamed Aboutrika, the list of terrorists for alleged ties to the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, said his lawyer yesterday.
Aboutrika, who from the sports arena was withdrawn in 2013, has rejected accusations that supports this party, which is considered a terrorist organization in Egypt.
The Muslim Brotherhood also has rejected links with terrorism.
Former mid-field player, Mohamed Aboutrika, 37-year-old, who has led Egypt’s football squad for a decade, is currently in Gabon, in the role of the Championship komemntatorit African countries.
His lawyer declined to say when Aboutrika could return to Egypt, but stressed that the decision of the Cairo Criminal Court can be appealed.
