Los Angeles Dodgers star Cody Bellinger has admitted that his hugs aren’t that great. However, that didn’t stop another female fan from trying to get close to the outfielder at Chase Field in Arizona on Monday.
It marked a second consecutive game in which the former NL Rookie of the Year was stormed by a young woman. He was approached Sunday at Dodger Stadium, which resulted in the fan being escorted out by security. Bellinger told reporters after that game that he joked with the girl that she would likely be going to jail for running onto the field, to which she replied that it was worth it.
Bellinger, however, didn’t find the second occasion as funny.
“I’m just trying to play a game. I don’t think I should have to worry about who’s going to come on the field or whatnot,” Bellinger said, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register. “I think it could be dangerous. I know it’s innocent right now but it could be dangerous.”
